MAA House
Residential Villa
This project’s design contends with incorporating feelings of maximum open-ness integrated with nature and landscape on a very narrow plot. The spatial design responds to this challenge while corresponding to the projects program by suspending a living space through void in the center of the villa that can be accessed by the landing of the staircase leading to the first floor. This provides additional space underneath the suspended family living for another formal living / Majlis. The structure of the villa is such that maximum loads are carried to the ground from the ceiling to the sides of the villa allowing no columns in the middle of the ground floor allowing the suspended living room to appear to be floating. This key space has several visual thresholds from other spaces through voids giving the villa an spatially amplified feeling.
